Our FEATURE ITEM OF THE MONTH is this adorable " Ballonnette" purse from Berroco yarns. Our shop sample is knit up with 2 shades of Ultra Alpaca # 6283 & # 6242. Pattern is free with purchase at The Knitting Studio so be sure to ask for your when you are in the store!
Nashua Handknits Desert Flower yarn is in and we have it in 6 fantastic variegated colors!! It is a DK weight (great for those summer projects), 50% cotton/43% linen/ 7% nylon and comes in 50 gr balls/ 112 yds. $8.95
Rauma Finullgarn-DK weight Here's a true Scandanivian yarn that works great for all those Fair Isle patterns! The Rauma 2 ply is dk weight and we have it in about 30 colors! Mary Durfee's vest class is making the "Vest Of Many Colors" with this yarn and the photos will be up shortly after the class is over in two weeks so be sure to check the classes page to see it knit up! 180 yds/50gr, 6 1/2 sts/in on size US 3-4 needles. Kertzer Freedom Spirit- dk weight Brigette's pick of the month! This is a fantastic feeling wool in DK weight which Brigette is using with the new Cat Bordhi sock book and just swears is one of the best new yarn's in the shop! This yarn is 100% wool, knits up at 5 1/2 sts/in on sizes US 6 needle and come in 131 yd skeins. Brigette is making her socks on size 3-4 with this yarn and they are just beautiful! $5.25
Kertzer Marble- dk weight Believe it or not, this yarn is 100% Acrylic! It knits up like a dream at 5 1/5 sts/in on size US 6 needles, washes beautifully (see sample photo on right) and has 240 yds per sk. We also have many patterns from this company that are just adorable! Machine wash and dry $5.25
The Pidge is here! It's Italy's newest fashion accessory and it's called "The Pidge"! It's worn like a scarf around the neck, but instead of wrapping a few times around, it's shorter and has a a button closure, like a collar. Leslie took one look at the photo and went home and came up with a pattern for us! (Thanks Leslie!) We've knit it out of just about every yarn in the shop... it's just wonderful! Our favorites are knit with Cash Vero by Cascade (shown at right) and Berroco's Jasper. Free pattern with purchase of yarn!
Plymouth Royal Llama Silk: We might as welll start with my new favorite yarn! Just in, with 13 incredible colors to choose from, is Plymouth's new Royal Llama Silk.This is a true worsted weight and knits up at 4 1/2-sts/ in on size 8 needles. Contents are 60% Fine Llama and 40% Silk. Cascade "CashVero" These folks at Cascade are just knocking us out with the new yarns this year! The Cash Vero is 55% Merino Extrafine Wool and 33% Microfiber Acrylic with 12% Cashmere and boy can you feel that 12% when you touch it! Just in is the Silky Wool line from Elsebeth Lavold. Not only are the colors fabulous, but the texture and feel of this new yarn will inspire you to do wonderful things! The garment on the left was knit by Mary D from the "Elsebeth Lavold Designer's Choice"- The Second Viking Knits Collection, Book Nine, and she commented that the yarn is a joy to knit with and the pattern easy to follow. 65 % wool, 35% Silk, 191 yds/50gr 5 1/2 sts/in, US 6 needle. $7.50 per skein.
