Welcome to our book page! We will try to get this page caught up as soon as we can! We've received lots of new spring and summer yarns, patterns and books in recently so we are all working hard to get them on the web! Thanks for your patience!
Here's a look at the first few to arrive. The Elsebeth Lavold Silky Wool Yarn is in and with it, two fantastic books! Mary was kind enough to knit up the cover vest from book 9, "Ylva" in the gold Silky Wool. We are already flipping coins to see who will 'own' the garment if Jean ever decides to part with it! Both the books from Elsebeth Lavold's Viking Knits Collections are listed below. The only problem now is which sweater to knit first! Elsebeth's designs are not only flattering in the way she shapes the patterns, but have marvelous designs in the Celtic fashion. Not a cable knitter? Not to worry as most her designs have just a touch here and there to add a bit of elegance to the garment!
Elsebeth Lavold's Designer's Choice, the first in "The Viking Knits Collection", book one. When given the opportunity to develop a new yarn line under her own label, choosing the designs for the first yarn was easy: She wanted to make available a selection of the Viking Knits designs, previously unpublished or published in Swedish only, in a book. This is the book! Herein you will find 16 contemporary and timeless designs for women, men and children, all with their pattrn elements originating from Viking Age objects, all with the beauty and careful attention to detail that is the trademark of Elsebeth Lavold's designs. And all in a lovely Silky Wool.
Here's another in the Viking Knits Collection that you are sure to want! Elsebeth Lavold returns with another collection of designs inspired by the intricate ornamentation of Viking Age artifacts that have been found in all of the three Scandinavian countries she can call home: Sweden, where she lives, Denmark, where she was born and Norway, where she is a citizen. This book has a wide range of beautiful designs, from the cool, elegant shell, Ylva (<~~ click to see our store sample) to the cozy swagger Hjordis knit in Alpaca with lots of cable accents, to the Ingrid with it's beautiful slimming waistline cables. 11 patterns for women, men and children, 63 pages.
